Changes at Miller Orthodontics Due To COVID-19, Miller Orthodontics Blog

UPDATE: Effective 4-23-2020

In these unprecedented times, we know that everyone is doing their part to limit the spread of Covid 19.  For this reason, Miller Orthodontics had been temporarily closed to regular orthodontic appointments, however, we have some good news!
We are planning to reopen May 1, 2020 following the Utah Dental Association, American Dental Association, and the Summit County Health guidelines.  This date may be adjusted if new information comes to light.
Starting next week we will begin calling patients to schedule appointments.  We will continue to limit the number of patients we see at one time, as well as spreading different types of appointments throughout the day to safely accommodate everyone. We appreciate your patience in allowing us to call you.  We have many patients to reschedule and we promise we will get to all of you!
As always we are available for patients who are in discomfort or have swelling.
Thank you again for your patience! Our team can’t wait to see you again!

UPDATE: Effective 3-20-2020

Summit County has mandated Miller Orthodontics close their office, except for emergencies. The county will reassess conditions in 2 weeks.
The office will be open 9-3 daily (for scheduled emergencies only) Outside of office hours, if your patient is experiencing pain or swelling please text the doctors on their cell phone at 571-338-6211 or 571-338-6196. You may also perform a virtual appointment 24/7 by going to our website, www.m2ortho.com, and clicking on the orange tab called ‘virtual appointment’ (make sure to watch the how to video for instructions on taking pictures). One of the doctors will respond within 24 hours by text, or call you if needed.
While the office will be open 9-3 Monday through Friday, please schedule an appointment before coming in as only one patient may be seen at a time, also the main building doors will be locked.
We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused, but we will reach out and schedule your next visit as soon as we know when the ‘stay at home’ order has been lifted.

Changes due to COVID-19

As members of the Park City community, the safety and well being of our patients, families and team members is of the utmost importance to us!  Due to the rapidly changing challenges brought about by the threat of the Corona Virus, Miller Orthodontics has implemented changes and we have more are planned as things progress.  As many already know, schools and many public services have closed for the foreseeable future.  If you were in our office last week, you may have noticed we have discontinued the use of our beverage center, and cookies, as well as all games and magazines have been temporarily removed/shut down.  There are many unknowns about how this virus will spread in our community, but one thing we do know is in addition to universal precautions, social distancing provides the most known way to limit the spread of COVID-19.

Extra Family Members at Appointments

As a temporary measure, we ask that you try to limit to one extra person accompanying the patient inside if necessary.  We ask that additional family members wait outside or in your car.  We realize many parents need to stay with additional children but want updates.  Please consider using your cell phone to talk to a team member or the doctor for an update. We are happy to speak with you post appointment to give you updates on  your children’s treatment plan.

Schedule & Appointments

The office will be open Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm for now.  We will be seeing emergency patients and doing low risk procedures only.  We have been sending out emails and text message to reschedule appointments as needed, please feel free to call us with any questions or concerns regarding appointments and scheduling. We are following the CDC healthcare workers procedures with social distancing. This could affect the time it takes to complete scheduled tasks and the time slots we have available.  We appreciate your patience with our office as we navigate this difficult time. We will only be seeing patients one at a time, with time in between to sterilize. Please be sure to call us and make an appointment before stopping in, and stick to your scheduled appointment time if possible.

Essential and Non-Essential Visits

Over the next 24 hours, we are developing a priority system of ‘need to be seen’ versus a visit that could be accomplished by a ‘virtual appointment’ with one of our doctors using an app already on our website but being modified to meet the needs of those patients in active treatment.  We will identify patients that will qualify for this service and will let you know if this is a good option for you! Our goal for all of our patients remains the same, efficient care in a safe, fun environment.
